Yes, he's articulate.
But the real shame, and the shame which I am waiting to hear him address, is the destruction and death brought about by the weapons that paid for his million dollar homes and his lifestyle and the lifestyle of his family, friends and constituents.

It is a natural Law that we cannot separate ourselves from our decisions and actions.
I will find him articulate when he feels the shame of being responsible for the deaths and maiming of others.
When will America recognize that the true dependency of our economy, is not on the 'shopper,' but on the Defense Industry? And when will our economy begin to wean itself from this industry of death and destruction?
This "Military Industrial Complex" does not in my view, reflect the meaning, purpose or soul of The United States.
Cunningham's involvement with the death of others through his decisions regarding Defense Contracts is the true shame, the blood on his hands and his families. When he apologizes for those decisions is when it will become apparent to me that he is contrite.
Depleted Uranium, White Phosporus among other things must enter the conversation regarding the Defense Industry and ethical standards of conduct particularly as they affect governance.
When will we as a people revise our Standards of Conduct of how we expect our country to behave? Do we really believe that our iPods, our car culture, our consumption of natural resources, our waste of food and water, our overabundance of 'things,' reflect, the Good Life, to which we have an inalienable Right? Do we recognize that many luxuries may come at the expense of the lives and livelihood of others?
The real question is: How do we shift our economy from dependance on the Defense Industry and the death their products bring?
