i saw a program on cnn today that i find shocking: "On the Story" with pentagon spokesperson victoria clark as host with pentagon correspondent jamie mcintyre.
it is set up to appear as a news program with charming young people asking questions from the audience.
victoria clarke is the Public Relations PAID pentagon stooge who SOLD the war standing side by side with donald rumsfeld. she SOLD the invasion. she SOLD it by seeming charming and wholesome and level headed. in my view, she has blood on her hands.
she is a shame to the role women are increasingly playing in affecting the world. i confess, i'd really like to give her a piece of my mind.
i've felt anger toward her for two years. she SELLS untruths using her innate (and God given) talents.
how can she sell herself like that?!?!!!!
does she not have a moral conscience when it comes to something of the significance of WAR? does she treat it as a job? does she really believe in rumsfeld's / bush's policies?
one day of course she'll have an epiphany and try to go out and do good; like ann rice, now writing about Jesus and not the vampire, .....; like schwartzenegger, who's had his own brand of "seeing God."
give us a break! it's a let's break it, feel really bad and then become famous and loved (and probably wealthy) by FIXING it. it's a let's get a fix mentality.
fellow humans, let's just stop breaking things. we poor schlubs are tired of the UNNECESSARY messes those who consider themselves so important and their every little fart and fiddle so important, keep making that are damaging to us.
tread a bit more gently on this world, victoria clarke.
an important thing that has come from the young men and women fighting in iraq: (brought out in recent books published by returning veterans) they serve the constitution not a particular elected official.
this question, asked during and especially after vietnam, now receives a long overdue but worthy answer. (listen up john kerry.)
(one could argue that the nuremberg trials established that there are some orders that soldiers should not carry out.
it also established that making war on another country that was not an agressor is illegal.)
but someone like victoria clarke, who does she serve? i can only think, money. for shame.
and i wonder, how much money does the pentagon pay cnn to air this?
it's outrageous when a news organization airs a program such as "On the Story" and does NOT have a disclaimer which makes it clear that this is coming straight from the pentagon mouth.
so here is another place the taxpayer / the citizen is being screwed.
let's renegotiate contracts to the air waves. this is decidedly NOT working.
